Artist Statement

ABSTRACT ARTIST - CHICAGO:

The various careers of my life: teacher, interior designer, jewelry maker and restaurateur have had a common thread. It is the need to connect with people in a way that will enhance their lives, and by doing so add great pleasure to my own. Becoming a self-taught artist feels as though I have truly found the most gratifying means to accomplish this, while enabling me to express my life experiences.
The greatest reward for me is communicating with people through my art.

Using acrylic paint, whether painting on glass using reverse painting techniques or on canvas (adding a variety of textures), my process is very intuitive. Inspiration comes form deep within allowing me to express my emotions and feeling on canvas, and also from a desire to have my creations bring people into the world of color and imagination. Painting is my adventure. When painting, I am uplifted by great joy and tremendous newfound energy. This is what I wish to impart to you, the viewer.
