Artists Describing Their Art:

Bruno Paolo Benedetti - Bruno Paolo Benedetti, born in the year 1954, began to take pictures, studying perspective and photo techniques, in the year 1968. Since the begin he was concerned with black and white photography, observing the contrast s of the nature, the lights and interpreting the reality around him. When he was 25 he began to work in the dark room, enhancing his technique using filters, high contrast films for making his first pictures of surreal and abstract photography. At the same time he began journeying around Europe and the world: India, Nepal, Bhutan, Southern America, South Africa, Egypt, Comoros islands are some of the most visited places. The study of the religions, the mysticism in all of them, inspired his artistic production, especially his surreal photography, where cultural and religious archetypes are depicted. The abstract non objective photography is the other branch of his work. It starts from the observation of the nature in all its manifestations: water, lights, colors, shores, flowers, ice All the colors are not elaborated and strictly natural, highlighting hidden particulars and changing the images into fluid shapes, where each watcher can see new images created by his emotions and fantasy. In both styles of pictures the ...

Mark Raynes Roberts - "Crystal to me has always evoked nature's beauty creating its own alchemy within and reflecting the changing world all around us. It's a material humankind created over 330 years ago,and the closest we have come I believe as a species to adding untold beauty to the world we live in. It is also the material responsible for many of the technological advances we enjoy in today's world. From cell phones to the most sophisticated computers and telescopes, prismatic light and the crystal lens have been the cornerstones to allowing us to see ourselves more clearly and the universe beyond. Much of my introspective work over the past 25 years has dealt with the human experience and discovery of our shared humanity. So with the GLASSLANDS COLLECTION, it is my hope to build an educational tool to bridge the gap between our understanding of our fragile environment and the need for greater sustainability. This collection will be made from both the purest optical crystal known to humankind, and from reclaimed glass disposed of by humankind. It will define both the beauty we are capable of creating, and the actions of harm we are capable of if we...

John Griebsch - John Griebsch photographs American and European landscapes, mostly from his vintage 1952 Cessna. The images depict the pattern, color and design of natural and man-made landforms. "Each image reflects a view of the way a detail of the earth's becomes a universe unto itself. My aerial photographs present a sense of selective design applied to an extremely small but significant area of the vast landscape over which I fly. I find the need to make geographical sense of the earth, as well as the need to make visual sense of a photograph. My work involves ambiguity of scale and the strong graphic quality of nature, and of the hand of man on nature."...

Bernhard Luettmer - The project is to create the image with a short composition as I wanted at times I took in here. Timing and movements of the camera or the machinery are important resources. Photography is listen to the world as we hear a beloved piece of music. For example: I see a tree just in vegetation, the wind gentle caresses the new leaves, the light shines and you hear all this on the skin. Now take a picture with the knowledge that this concentration and on the negative is something of the feeling....

Michael Easton - My nature photography reflects a personal vision of the spirituality of the land. Photographing nature primarily in British Columbia is a way of life that translates the passion for this land into a shared experience of imagery through the medium of the fine print. The challenge when finding an image in nature that is of particularly interest is to pare down the extraneous bits to the essential elements that is the essence of the emotional/spiritual experience. The textural and design elements of the image are the key to the mind's appreciation of the congruency of nature within an apparent chaotic framework. Black and white aids the mind in this process without the distraction of other colours. My motivation in showing this work is to help people develop a stronger bond with nature and by extension a greater interest and concern for preserving the many unique ecosystems of the world....
