Artwork Description:
No. 18 in The Bib Overalls Series, Jimmy drove long-haul truck for 25 years, even driving his cab down into the Grand Canyon! Now, as my neighbor, he raises hay and farms beef cattle as well as raising and riding pleasure horses. This low-key, quiet, unassuming man KNOWS WHO HE IS. He is at peace in his own skin. He describes himself as just a country boy, but he is very sophisticated and possesses many skills. His greatest joy in life is LEARNING. Jimmy has built a life aesthetic that is creative, coherent, honest, unassuming, compassionate and built around the concept of making do. As a model, he excelled at pushing and inspiring me to new heights of character revelation via paint. Opting for 3-hr. sittings with no breaks, he kept me on my feet and working. The fencing pliers in the background are a farmer's major tool.
