12/20/2004: "Its been a whirl wind time...."

Coming back from my trip out West where I was the JUDGE for the Scottsdale International Film Festival was truly invigorating. Great to see what others are doing in new media. From there I gave a lecture at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA). Presented my latest DVD on wide screen. A trip to Tucson and then over to Los Angeles where I created a one hour multimedia event for Florida's Governor's Office of Film and Entertainment at Universal Studios. Taking in a side trip to the Getty Museum and a walking photo tour of Melrose Avenue. Nothing would be complete without breakfast at MEL's Diner on Sunset Blvd. (my favorite).



When I came back I returned to take part in the events of ART BASEL MIAMI BEACH. This was an exhausted number of days of constant partying, networking and enjoyment of art. - I did indeed throw a party at JOIA Lounge and even found


Magic Johnson as one of the guests! - While it was a fabulous event, it was small in magnitude compared to the "96 HOUR NON-STOP Party" I threw the previous year. ))

As an artist/photographer, a picture is worth a thousand words, and I took hundreds of photographs.

I ran into some of my old art dealers and some other friends while
at the "Containers" on the Beach. These were big shipping containers
that are donated to Art Basel. These are avant garde galleries that
show very interesting works.




DELANO HOTEL:

The Delano was rocking the entire time during Art Basel. It doesnt need
the inspiration of an art fair to get excited. Its alwayssss happening at
the Delano. However, the night I was there for the Art Basel Party there
was some multicultural music and dancing going on. My buddy DJ Chilly
was there spinning in the main lobby. (But of course!) )




DESIGN DISTRICT

Saturday night has been Art Basel's sponsoring of the Design District parties.
Always lots of fun to see people on the street.....lots of drinks sponsored by
liquor companies and of course the VIEW!!




PAWN SHOP:

More fun and outrageous times that took place was at the Pawn Shop.
No..I wasnt trading art for a few dollar bills; This is a new club that
is a pawn shop by day and a serious party club at night.




During Art
Basel it was totally crazy. Paris Hilton was at the Pawn Shop opening
night to inaugurate the place.
